Maintenance of the Front Brakes on the Fiat Ducato (Peugeot Boxer, Citroen Relay/Jumper)

The maintenance operation of the front brakes on the Fiat Ducato (and its counterparts Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Relay/Jumper) is not complex. Lift the vehicle on axle stands. Remove the wheel and, using a 6 mm Allen key, unscrew the sliding pins of the caliper. Detach the caliper and suspend it with a wire. Remove the brake pads and backing plates. To remove the brake disc, unscrew the two 14 mm bolts with a socket wrench and the 12 mm positioning pins. Clean and lubricate the sliding pins with copper grease. Apply a small amount of grease to the back of the pads (avoiding the friction surface). Reassemble everything in reverse order and tighten with thread locker. Take the opportunity to inspect the suspension, CV boots, and brake lines. Clean and paint any rusted parts. Proper maintenance extends the life of the components.
