The procedure indicated here is valid for all fire engines, ie those mounted on the Lancia Ypsilon, Punto and Seicento. Remove the coolant: remove the radiator cap and on the opposite side open the bleed valve. Then remove the lower radiator hose taking care to place a tray on the floor to collect the liquid that will come out (at least 2 liters) and being careful not to touch the liquid itself as it is corrosive and toxic. Remove the air filter by disconnecting the intake pipe, unhook the front spring that holds the cover in place, unscrew the two screws at the top left and bottom right on the filter box. Disconnect the mass air sensor connector. At this point the filter box can be removed. Disconnect the battery starting from the negative pole, remove the battery fixing bracket with a 10 mm spanner and then extract the battery. To remove the battery compartment completely, use a size 13 socket wrench and unscrew the three bolts on the bottom. Disconnect all cables that are attached to the battery compartment. Remove the sleeve leading directly to the thermostatic valve. The latter is blocked by two bolts of 10 which must be removed. At this point the thermostat can be removed. Before reinstalling the new thermostat it is recommended to thoroughly clean the installation area and then follow the procedure in reverse to reassemble all the components. At the end, fill the radiator with new liquid and bleed using the appropriate screw to avoid the formation of air bubbles.
