FIAT 500 1.2 8V Engine Oil and Filter Change

To replace the engine oil and oil filter of the Fiat 500, first position the car securely and safely (on a flat surface or on a ramp) so you can work on it while ensuring the operator's safety. This precaution should be taken for any maintenance operation on any vehicle. Now, open the front bonnet of the engine compartment and unscrew the oil filler cap. If desired, you can use a fluid for the change as per the instructions in the video images. To drain the old oil, keep the engine running for about 5 minutes to make it more fluid. Place a container under the drain hole below the engine. Unscrew the drain plug and allow all the oil to flow out of the engine. Close the drain hole again, and once you locate the oil filter, proceed to unscrew it (using the appropriate tool). Replace the old filter with the new one (it’s advisable to lubricate the seal and its fitting). At this point, after extracting the dipstick to check the level, simply pour the new oil into the designated filler until it reaches the medium level on the dipstick. And that’s it!
