What happens when airbags deploy, and most importantly, what should you do afterwards? The driver and passenger airbags explode, and the seatbelt pre-tensioners also activate. It is recommended to have the work done by professionals; this is not a job you can do yourself if the front airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners deploy.

Your future safety is at stake; while reinstalling an airbag can be relatively straightforward, realigning the steering wheel so it turns correctly is already a task that is not suitable for everyone. Replacing the passenger airbag is definitely a job for professionals, as the entire dashboard and centre console must be completely removed, along with the side pillars to access the seatbelts.

To remove the lower part of the front pillar, you also need to remove the rear seats, not just the base but also the backrest; then you can remove the rear parts of the pillars and finally access the front ones: essentially, you will have dismantled the entire car.
