The immobiliser activates when the key is inserted into the ignition barrel to start the engine, but it is not recognised, preventing the engine from starting. As the protagonist of the aforementioned video explains and demonstrates, in most cases, this is due to a broken key or a flat battery, or the outer ring of the barrel, which, when broken, no longer reads the code.
