In this video we see a serious problem that occurred on a Ford Ka MK3: while driving, all the dashboard lights came on, and the message "power steering failure. Repair" appeared on the multimedia screen. It is evidently a serious problem with the electric power steering (EPS) of our KA, and therefore the steering wheel can become very stiff and difficult to maneuver, putting our safety and that of others at risk. The reasons for such a failure can vary: an electrical fault, a fault in the electronic control unit, a blown fuse, or simply the wear of steering components. If this failure occurs, as shown in the video, it is advisable to stop and not continue driving, which can be dangerous. All we can do on our own is check the fuse box: the power steering fuse is in the box located in the engine compartment and is number F22. Any other repairs must be done by a specialized technician.
