How to Reset the Service Light on a Ford Transit Connect

To reset the oil change light on a Ford Transit Connect, sit in the driver's seat with the doors closed. Insert the key into the ignition but do not turn it. Press and hold the brake and accelerator pedals simultaneously. This operation is straightforward and does not require diagnostic tools. While holding the pedals down, turn the key to the ON position (ignition on, engine off). The display will show the message "Service oil reset in progress". Continue holding the pedals for about 10 seconds until the message disappears. At this point, switch off the ignition (key to OFF) and release the pedals. To verify the reset, turn the ignition back on: the message "Oil change required" should have disappeared. Start the engine as normal. The procedure is quick and applicable to many Ford models.
