How to Reset the Service Light on a Ford Ranger

Learn how to reset the service light on a latest generation Ford Ranger: turn on the instrument cluster and use the buttons located on the right side of the steering wheel to access the menu. Look for the "menu" option and scroll to "vehicle maintenance" then select "engine oil life". At this point, a screen will appear showing the percentage of oil life remaining. Press and hold the "ok" button for a few seconds and a confirmation request will appear, so you will need to press "ok" again: the percentage will return to 100% and the warning light will disappear. The Ranger also has this mechanical procedure: turn off the ignition and press the accelerator pedal all the way down. Turn on the ignition while holding the accelerator for 30 seconds. The light will start to flash. Release the accelerator and turn off the ignition. Wait another 30 seconds and turn it back on. The light will be off.
