How to Remove the Airbag and Steering Wheel on a Ford Kuga MK1

In this video, see how to remove the steering wheel and airbag from a Ford Kuga MK1. First, loosen the steering column. Next, remove the plastic cover of the steering wheel, which can be easily pried off with a flat screwdriver or a plastic spatula.

This will also allow you to take off the plastic cover of the instrument cluster, held in place by two clips. Now, turning the steering wheel, you will notice a small hole on each side at the back: you will need two thin screwdrivers.

Insert them into the holes and pull the clips from both sides; the airbag will pop out almost by itself. Now, be very careful when gently removing the electrical connectors.

Remove the steering wheel using a 24 mm socket, but it is advisable to first disconnect the wiring of the clock spring located inside.
