How to Replace Engine Oil and Filter on GMC Canyon Mk2

This guide shows how to replace the engine oil in the GMC Canyon Mk2. First, open the hood and remove the cap from the oil filler neck. Once the vehicle is lifted, locate the drain plug on the oil pan and remove it with a 15 mm wrench to let the fluid drain into an appropriate container. After this, close the drain plug and clean up any spills. Remove the oil filter using a 24 mm wrench with an extension; be careful of any lubricant leaks. Replace the old cartridge and install the new element with the corresponding gasket. Fill the oil reservoir with the correct amount of oil, as specified in the vehicle's owner's manual. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes at idle to circulate the oil.
