Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

This video illustrates the procedure for replacing the engine oil and the corresponding filter on a Hyundai Santa Fe. First, gather the necessary materials: a 17 mm spanner, a 10 mm ratchet with an extension, new engine oil, and a new filter. After opening the bonnet, use the 10 mm spanner to remove the bolts from the plastic cover and take it off. Now locate the oil sump at the bottom of the vehicle, unscrew the plug, and let the old oil drain into a collection tray. While the oil drains, remove the filter plug using a socket spanner. Extract both the plug and the old filter, replacing the latter with the new one. Next, remove the old gasket with a screwdriver and replace it with a new one; also change the small one located at the end of the plug, then lubricate both and refit the filter plug. Now (after the liquid has completely drained) re-screw the sump bolt and introduce the new oil (approximately 5.25 litres). Finally, measure the oil level with the dipstick and start the vehicle to check the warning light (located at the bottom right of the dashboard). Lastly, replace the engine cover.
