Hyundai Elantra - Video tutorial

Model: Hyundai Elantra MK 2, J2 - Years 1995-2000
Part: Clutch
Operation: Disassembly of the car clutch

The following guide shows how to change the car's clutch. The replacement requires several steps which, if done correctly, save some money. The work must be done in a comfortable and safe place. First the wheels must be removed and then the shock absorbers. At this point the starter motor must be disconnected to avoid problems such as possible fires. To do this it is necessary to remove the fixing pins and the positive battery cable. It will then be necessary to detach the drive shafts, then detach the gear lever and remove the clutch cable. Two people will then have to work to disconnect the gearbox from the engine. Finally, it is necessary to remove the disc and pressure plate, so that the clutch disc can be removed.

When the steering angle sensor malfunction warning light comes on, it may need to be replaced as follows: first remove the steering wheel and the lower steering wheel guard by removing the three fixing screws. The steering sensor is located just below the steering column. To release it you need to have a small screwdriver and insert it into the hole on the front, push the screwdriver all the way down until the clips at the bottom are released. Next, pull down on the back of the card containing the sensor and disengage it from the steering column. At that point take the new card and reposition it, after which proceed backwards to reassemble the various components.
