How to DIY Replace the Clutch on the Hyundai i10

On the Hyundai i10, replacing the clutch requires removing the gearbox. Place the Hyundai i10 on axle stands, disconnect the battery, and clear the space in the engine bay. Loosen the front wheel nuts, lift the vehicle, and remove the wheels. Drain the gearbox oil if necessary and disconnect the gear linkage, sensors, brackets, and supports that prevent removal. Support the engine with a dedicated stand and remove the gearbox support. Disconnect the drive shafts from the hub and the differential output, then carefully slide the gearbox out of the bell housing. With the flywheel secured, unscrew the pressure plate, remove the disc, and check the condition of the flywheel; clean the surfaces and align the new disc with a centring tool. Fit the new pressure plate and torque to the manufacturer's specifications; replace the release bearing and check the guide. Reinstall the gearbox on the Hyundai i10, aligning the input shaft with the disc hub, refit the support and fasteners, reconnect the drive shafts, restore the linkages and wiring, then refill the gearbox oil to the specification. If your Hyundai i10 uses a cable clutch, adjust the pedal play; if it’s hydraulic, bleed the system until the pedal feels normal. Finish with gear engagement tests, check for leaks, and verify clutch engagement during a short road test.
