How to Replace the Timing Chain on Your Car

Start by draining the engine oil by unscrewing the plug located under the sump. Remove the engine cover using a spanner, then unscrew the bolts around the sump to take it off. Use a screwdriver to pry it down, separating it from the silicone seal.

Next, unscrew the bolts of the pulleys next to the cylinder head that drive the chain. Once the chain is removed, proceed with the replacement and reassemble everything, remembering to apply silicone to the sump and add new oil to the engine.
