How do you replace the oil and filter on a Land Rover Freelander? First, open the car door and pull up the lever to open the bonnet, then lift the front bonnet. Unscrew the large securing bolt of the container cap where the oil filter is located. Remove the oil filter containment kit: extract the worn oil filter from inside the container. Raise the car on a jack and unscrew the bolt from the oil sump: allow the fluid to drain into a suitable disposal container. Refill with new oil inside the engine.
