Especially in four-wheel drive cars, having the ability to lock the differential is very useful in situations where the terrain puts a strain on the car. This device is not fitted as standard on all cars, therefore, where it is not present, a special kit must be fitted. Once the device has been installed on the differential, it is necessary to replace the stock dummy lever with the real command. The installation of the control lever involves the complete disassembly of the central tunnel then starting to remove the dummy lever and the gear knob, then using a plastic tool to avoid damaging the body, pry at the base of the tunnel around the rear ashtray to unclip the plastic clips and remove it in order to access the tunnel sealing screws. Remove the storage compartment of the tunnel and remove the screws on the bottom to lift the whole tunnel in order to recover the various electrical wiring prepared by the house for these accessories.
