Land Rover Discovery - Video tutorial

Model: Land Rover Discovery MK 3, L319, LR3, Discovery 3 - Years 2004-2010
Part: Gear oil
Operation: How to change the automatic transmission oil of Land Rover Discovery II

The guide shows how to change the oil in the Land Rover Discovery II automatic transmission. The first operation consists in draining the tank by lifting the vehicle and unscrewing the engine drain plug. At this point, the securing bolts of the transmission protective panel can be removed. The fixing screws of the oil filter can be removed with a Torx wrench. The two o-rings of the inlet and outlet hole must be mounted on the new filter. Replace the oil pan gasket and clean the magnet placed in the piece. At this point the oil pan can be reassembled and, with a lubricant gun, the reservoir can be refilled. Run the engine so that the new oil is completely circulated. Check the level and top up if necessary.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
