As seen in this tutorial, replacing the tail light bulbs on a Lincoln MKX is an extremely simple and quick task. Before proceeding, ensure the key is not in the ignition for safety.

Start by opening the trunk, then locate the two bolts on the inner edge of the light and remove them with an 8mm wrench. Next, grasp the light assembly, pull it outward, and disconnect it from the body.

At this point, you can proceed with replacing the burnt-out bulb, avoiding direct contact with the glass of the replacement with bare hands.
