How to Replace the Oil and Oil Filter on a Maruti Alto

Model: Maruti Alto RF - Years 2000-2014

To replace the oil and oil filter on a Maruti Alto, lift the front of the car. Remove the oil filler cap located behind the oil pan. Use a 17 mm wrench to remove the drain plug and let the oil drain into a container. After draining the oil, clean the drain plug and apply some new oil to it. Reinstall the oil drain plug. Closer to the front bumper, locate the oil filter and remove it using the appropriate wrench, allowing the oil to drain into a container. After draining the oil, pour new oil into the new filter and reinstall it in its housing. Once the oil filter is secured, lower the car. Go to the engine, insert a funnel into the oil filler hole, and pour in the specified quarts of oil. When you are close to the indicated amount, check the level with the dipstick (the level should be checked the second time you pull out the dipstick). If the level is at the "max" mark, the operation is complete; otherwise, top off as needed.
