How to Disconnect and Replace the Engine Wiring

First, disconnect the battery cable by unscrewing the two bolts located, respectively, at the top right of the engine bay (driver's side) and on the left (passenger side). Then locate the electronic control unit (driver's side).

Open it and, lifting the blue lever, disconnect the cables. Now disconnect the other cables located behind the electronic control unit, at the bottom, by operating the white lever.

Finally, disconnect the positive battery cable using the appropriate key. At this point, you can remove the engine from its bay. The vehicle on which this maintenance operation is performed is a Mazda CX-7.
