Replacement of Diesel Fuel Filter

Model: Mercedes Sprinter MK 1, W901 - Years 1995-2006

To replace this filter, obtain the new complete replacement component. Replacing the fuel filter is a straightforward task that should be done regularly to ensure maximum engine performance. Start by removing the water presence sensor. Remove the three pipes located above the filter cover and drain the diesel fuel from the filter into a container by opening the designated valve. Unscrew the retaining bolt on the filter support using an Allen key. Lift and remove the filter. Detach the sensor located beneath the filter by turning it 90 degrees and pulling firmly. Clean the sensor thoroughly. Grease the thread and fit the sensor into the new filter, ensuring the connector faces forward. Refit the new filter into its housing and close the drain valve. Fill the filter with diesel fuel and reposition the connecting pipes. Clean up any fuel spills to prevent fire hazards.
