Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

When replacing the engine oil filter, you must also replace the oil. Drain the used oil through the drain plug located under the oil pan, and after draining, reinstall the plug. Many mechanics also use a vacuum extractor to remove the oil through the dipstick tube. Once the oil is drained, locate the filter housing just behind the intake manifold and unscrew the plastic cap. Remove the old cartridge, replace the O-ring, and install the new cartridge, then screw the cap back in place. Finally, fill the engine with new oil until it reaches the proper level.
