Nissan Qashqai - Video tutorial

Model: Nissan Qashqai J10 - Years 2006-2014
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: Disassembly and replacement of front shock absorbers

Raise the car on a lift and remove the wheels. Using an 18 mm wrench, unscrew the fixing pin of the connecting rod to the shock absorber and unhook the brake wear sensor wire and the brake oil pipe from the appropriate cable glands. Using two 21 mm wrenches, unscrew the bolts fixing the shock absorber to the hub support and release it from the support itself. At this point, open the front hood and first remove the support bracket of the fuel filter filler bulb and then unscrew (with a 13 mm socket wrench) the fixing pins of the shock absorber support: to access one of the pins It is necessary to remove the plastic casing immediately under the windscreen and then extract the 4 plastic pressure fasteners and the wiper blades (14 mm nut). It is therefore now possible to extract the shock absorber (consisting of damper and spring) and replace the damper: you need a specific tool to adjust the spring and unscrew the nut fixing the support to the damper stem. Then position the spring on the new damper and compact it to allow the application of the support and the tightening of the relative fixing nut. Finally insert the new shock absorber in its seat by tightening the fixing pins of the support to the frame, those of the shock absorber to the hub support and the one fixing the connecting rod to the shock absorber; reassemble what was previously removed.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
