First, let's perform a simple test: engage the handbrake and put it in third gear; start gently: if the engine doesn’t stall immediately, it means the clutch is slipping. We should also check for any oil leaks near the transmission. A visit to the mechanic is essential, as waiting too long could damage the flywheel. We do not recommend doing this work ourselves. But what are the most common causes that lead to this problem? The first is normal wear of the part, which no longer grips properly; another issue could be oil leaks from the clutch cylinder or the release bearing; additionally, the dual-mass flywheel may have overheated due to intense use or overly aggressive driving; or there could be air in the system, and the pump itself might be defective.
