Disassembly of the Oil Filter on an Opel Vivaro 1.9 CDTI

When replacing the engine oil and the corresponding filter, it is advisable to also change the air filter and the fuel filter; the engine air filter box is easily accessible, and once the three fixing screws of the cover are removed, extract the old filter and insert the new one; the fuel filter, of the immersion type, is located just behind the windscreen washer fluid reservoir: after removing the central pin, lift the cap and extract the cartridge; after inserting the new cartridge, fill the bowl by pressing the manual pump; then remove the cover plate from the bottom of the engine to drain the oil through the designated drain plug located at the bottom of the sump and replace the filter using a strap wrench: lubricate the seal of the new filter before screwing it in and replace the copper washer on the sump plug; finally, fill the engine with new oil until the maximum level is reached.
