In this video, we see some tips to solve the problem of the flashing start & stop light on the Peugeot 208: in fact, the start & stop system deactivates automatically if it detects non-optimal conditions. Here's how to diagnose and solve it. First of all, the driver's door must be properly closed: the system deactivates if it detects openings. Seat belts must be fastened correctly, and make sure not to keep your foot on the brake or clutch in an abnormal way. However, the most common cause is a weak battery (main or auxiliary). Also, check that the batteries are specific for this use: they must be AGM or EFB. Other reasons could be: cold engine, external temperatures too high or too low, air conditioning set at extreme levels. In this case, you can do an electrical reset by removing the key and waiting five minutes. The reasons could also be faulty sensors, errors in the control units: all things that can be detected with an OBD2 reader.
