How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Peugeot 308 1.6 HDi

This guide will show you the steps to replace the timing belt on a Peugeot 308 1.6 HDi. Start by unscrewing the bolts on the left side of the engine that hold the cover in place. Once removed, you will see the timing belt. At this point, you need to unscrew and remove the alternator along with its belt. Next, align the timing marks on the engine as shown at 8:15. When the timing marks are aligned, you can work on the tensioner bearings. Unscrew them to loosen the belt, which you will then remove as shown at 12:00. Now you can insert the new belt and tighten the tensioner bearings again. Finally, reassemble the alternator and close the engine.
