Front Shock Absorber Replacement

Model: Peugeot 207 MK 1 - Years 2006-2015

Replacing the front shock absorbers on this model is particularly labour-intensive as the shock absorber is secured to the hub support via a collar, which requires complete clearance of the hub. First, lift the vehicle, then remove the front wheel. Disconnect the shock absorber from the cable guides and the drop link. Remove the suspension wishbone ball joint from the hub, as well as the track rod end, and extract the driveshaft. Once the hub support is free, unscrew the bolt that secures the collar to the shock absorber and remove it. Lower the vehicle to access the engine bay, remove the wiper blades, and take off the plastic grille beneath the windscreen to access the strut top and detach the shock absorber support. At this point, apply clamps to the spring to compress it and remove the shock absorber support from the strut. Fit the boot, spring, and support onto the new shock absorber and proceed with installation in reverse order.
