How do you reset the electronic handbrake of the Renault Scenic?

In order to reset the handbrake of the Renault Scenic, you need to insert the ignition key into the ignition block and turn it to turn on the instrument panel without starting the engine: once the panel is turned on, you can open the door and remove the ignition key. Then you will need to hold down the door lock and engine start buttons simultaneously for about five seconds: this will cause the handbrake light to start flashing. You can now press the handbrake button to complete the reset procedure.
