Explanation of Symbols and Light Modes on the Toyota Corolla

In this video, we provide a brief explanation of the symbols and light modes on the Toyota Corolla. The lights are operated by the lever on the left side of the steering wheel.

On the outer side of this lever, there is the headlight switch, which has four positions: When the position aligns with the circle, only the daytime running lights are on, which should only be used during the day. Some models also have an OFF position that turns these off as well.

The next setting is 'auto', which works with a sensor that detects external light, activating the necessary lamps, including the number plate lights and interior lights.

The following position activates the sidelights, which can be kept on when external light is not yet fully diminished; finally, the last position is for the main beam. Pulling the lever towards you will temporarily activate the main beam, which can be permanently turned on by pushing the lever forward.

Remember that the main beam only activates if the dipped beam is on, and a blue indicator will light up on the dashboard. On the lever, there is another switch for the front fog lights; these also only activate when the dipped beam is already on. Turning the dial backwards will turn on the rear fog light.

An indicator will light up on the dashboard for both.
