How to Change the Front Brake Rotors and Pads on a Toyota Tacoma

Change the front brake rotors and pads: Start by lifting the vehicle, remove the wheel, take off the rear spring from the caliper, remove the 2 caliper pins, and also remove the upper plate from the calipers. Insert a flathead screwdriver and push the pads towards the outer part of the caliper, then use pliers to extract the pads. Now go to the back of the caliper, unscrew the two bolts, move the caliper, and tap the rotor to remove it. Clean the new rotor with brake cleaner, clean the hub where the rotor goes with the same product, position the rotor, and place the caliper back by tightening the bolts. Take the new pads and insert them with the friction side touching the rotor, reinsert the pins to secure the pads, starting with the top one, then position the bracket and secure it with the lower pin. Finally, reinstall the spring and put the wheel back on. Lastly, gently press the brake pedal, repeating this action until you feel brake pressure, indicating normal brake pedal operation. Repeat the process on the other side.
