Here is a list of five things not to do with an automated manual transmission. First, avoid driving short distances in traffic jams; starting and stopping continuously accelerates clutch wear. Second, do not keep the car stationary on an incline using the accelerator pedal, as this increases the load on the clutch group, leading to wear; use the brake pedal instead. Third, do not neglect maintenance of the AMT or delay it for too long. Fourth, avoid sudden starts, as this behaviour causes not only wear on the function but also on the gearbox. Finally, fifth, avoid wheel slip. It can happen on steep or uneven roads that the wheels may slip; in these cases, the AMT shifts from a higher gear to a lower one. Therefore, try to drive as little as possible in these situations.
