How to change the clutch pump of a Volkswagen Golf MKV

As we can see in this video, many versions of the Volkswagen Golf may have an issue with the pump located under the clutch pedal. If we find it all the way down towards the bottom of the pedal, simply pressing it a few times will bring it back up, but it is a sign that something is not right. This problem tends to occur especially in the presence of strong temperature fluctuations; since the pump is made entirely of plastic, it is affected by sudden changes in temperature. Accessing this pump is not easy, as we need to remove the battery and reach the pump tubing; then from the inside we need to dismantle the pedal and remove a piece of the leg airbag. Only then, at the bench, can we replace the pump. Before reassembling, we will need to bleed the brakes, which is quite unpleasant on this car because there is a risk of "cooking" the gaskets of the new pump. Once the brake fluid is refilled, the operation is complete.
