Front Wheel Bearing Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf III, MK 3, Golf 3 - Years 1991-1997

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and remove the wheel corresponding to the repair. Unscrew the caliper mounting bolts located at the rear and remove it. Extract the brake pads and also remove the caliper bracket to free the disc. Then unscrew the disc mounting bolt and remove it. Unscrew the hub centre shaft nut (using a pneumatic driver, no need for a tool to lock the hub rotation). Apply the puller support to extract the shaft from the hub (using the jack system) and remove the hub itself. Use pliers to remove the retaining circlip of the bearing and apply the jack puller to extract the old bearing from its seat. Replace the rear circlip and insert the new bearing using the jack system; apply the front retaining circlip. Using the pliers puller, remove the inner race of the old bearing remaining on the hub. Again using the jack system, reposition the hub in the new bearing and insert the shaft, pulling it with the appropriate puller and finally tighten the mounting nut. Finally, reassemble the brake disc, caliper, and wheel.
