How to remove the door panel on a Volkswagen New Beetle? Before starting the disassembly, disconnect the battery terminals located in the front engine compartment. Use a lever or screwdriver to pry at the bottom of the handle on the door panel, then detach the piece (as shown in the video) and begin unscrewing the retaining screws of the door with a screwdriver. Use a plastic lever to release all the clips by prying around the entire perimeter of the door. Finally, pull the panel away by hand, disconnecting the opening lever cable, the window lifter connectors, and the speaker connectors.
