Where is the Throttle Body on a Volkswagen Tiguan?

The throttle body of the Volkswagen Tiguan is located on the engine, directly connected to the intake manifold (the black plastic box to which the air hoses are attached). It is a cylindrical metal component, bolted to the end of the intake manifold, closest to the windscreen. It has a thick electrical cable and an air hose connected directly to it. The air hose comes from the air filter box, and inside is a throttle valve that opens and closes. Its function is to regulate the amount of air entering the engine. If it becomes dirty or fails, it can cause a range of problems, such as irregular or high idle, loss of power, stuttering starts, and the engine warning light coming on.
