Instructions for Cleaning Air Intake Lights

Model: Volkswagen Tiguan 5N, MK 1 - Years 2007-2016

Start by removing the cover on the engine, the air intake duct, and the engine air filter box (disconnect the mass air flow sensor); disconnect the vacuum hoses from the intake manifold and free the high and low-pressure fuel lines that run directly above the intake manifold; also disconnect the sensor connectors whose wiring interferes with the intake manifold and remove the oil filter cartridge (which can be reused) to access other fastening pins of the intake manifold; then access the underside of the vehicle by removing the undertray and disconnect the hose from the throttle body and the absolute pressure sensor; complete the removal of the intake manifold with the throttle body, taking care to avoid interference with the various pipes. Extract the o-ring seals from the injectors and the deflectors present in the intake lights of the cylinder head and proceed with cleaning and removing carbon deposits, ensuring that the valves are closed.
