How to Remove the Central Locking Mechanism on a Volkswagen Touareg

Model: Volkswagen Touareg MK 1, 7L - Years 2002-2010

How to remove the central locking mechanism (left side) on a Volkswagen Touareg? Before starting, disconnect the battery terminals located in the engine bay. Use a lever to remove the handle cover, then unscrew the screws with a screwdriver. Unscrew the remaining screws on the door panel and detach the retaining clips. Disconnect the power connectors for the window lifter. Remove the panel and carefully unclip it from the door. Remove the protective cover above the door metalwork and unscrew the central locking mechanism with all attached parts. Remove the locking mechanism and fit the new part.
