Replacing the Starter Motor

The starter motor is located near the gearbox: before proceeding with disassembly, it is advisable to disconnect the battery to avoid short circuits. Then disconnect the power cables from the starter and remove the securing bolts from the gearbox to remove it; once removed, protect the corresponding seat on the gearbox with a cloth. Common faults often involve wear of the brushes and the relay, but mechanical failures of the pinion are also possible: therefore, it is advisable to opt for the installation of a refurbished starter motor, which is easy to find in the aftermarket at a good price.
