Removing the Fuel Pump on a VW Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf III, MK 3, Golf 3 - Years 1991-1997

Let’s see how to remove the fuel pump from a Golf. Disconnect the battery cables, then remove the rear seat cushions of the car. Use a socket to unscrew the bolts securing the metal cap, and remove it from its seat. Use a chisel to unscrew the large securing pin of the fuel pump as shown in the video, disconnect the power connectors and the fluid circulation hoses. Extract the floating fuel pump from its seat along with the attached parts. After installing the new fuel pump, reattach the tank covers and connect the electrical connectors.
