How to Change the Door Lock on a Golf 5

Let’s disassemble the door lock on a Golf 5. First, remove the door trim panel. Use a flat tool to pry around the internal door handle. Next, remove the plastic cover plate from the handle and unscrew the screws on it. Remove the window winder, unscrew the perimeter screws securing the panel, detach it from the door, and disconnect the power wires. You can also remove the external door cover. Unscrew the lock screws and remove it from inside the door.
