Instructions for Disassembling EGR Valve

Model: Volkswagen Bora MK 6 - Years 1998-2005
Part: EGR valve

It is advisable to carry out this maintenance with the engine cold. The EGR valve is located at the rear of the engine: the first step is to disconnect the rubber hose connecting it to the intake manifold; then disconnect the one connected to the diaphragm actuator that controls the opening and closing of the valve. At this point, using a 5 mm hex key, unscrew the fastening bolts of the exhaust manifold (located underneath) and then those fastening the valve itself to the intake manifold; to complete the disassembly, finally disconnect the small hose from the other actuator.
