Checking the Cooling System

If the radiator cooling fan does not activate and the engine temperature rises, there may also be a problem with the thermostat, which opens the cooling system and allows the coolant to flow from the radiator to the engine and vice versa. This problem could also be caused by rust in the system: therefore, it may be appropriate to drain it and perform a flush, refilling it with suitable coolant to prevent new rust formation (consider whether to remove the radiator and have it flushed by a professional radiator specialist).
