Replacing Spark Plugs in a Car

Spark plugs are a fundamental component of the engine; replacing them is not a very difficult task. Once you open the bonnet, allow the engine to cool for a few hours. Consult the vehicle manual to identify the correct spark plugs to install, the quantity, the correct gap, and the tools needed to remove them. If necessary, measure the distance between the electrodes, then locate the leads that connect to them, remembering that the number of leads equals the number of spark plugs in the engine. Using the appropriate spanner, remove the electrical cap from each spark plug. Replace the removed spark plug with a new one and reconnect the lead. Finish the job by cleaning the area around the spark plugs of any dirt.
