This video shows how to remove and replace the alternator on a fourth-generation Volkswagen Golf by following these simple steps. First, open the bonnet and disconnect the control unit found on the positive terminal of the battery, also disconnecting the clamps; then unscrew the bolts of the alternator's mounting bracket, thus removing the engine support. At this point, disconnect the electrical connector of the alternator and remove its fixing screws; all that's left is to pull it out and replace it with the new one, applying the reverse procedure!
