How to Reset the Engine Service Light on Volkswagen Golf 7

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf VII, MK 7, Golf 7 - Years 2012-2019

To reset the oil change service indicator on the Volkswagen Golf 7 (also applicable to Golf 5 and 6), follow these steps: open the door and access the driver's seat, turn the key and switch on the ignition (do not start the engine). The central display on the instrument cluster will show the message "oil change and inspection now". Below the display in the centre of the instrument cluster, there is a button labelled "00". Press and hold this button for a few seconds until the service indicator clears and the new timing for the next service appears.
