How to Replace the Cylinder Head Gasket on a Volkswagen Golf 5

To replace the cylinder head gasket on a Volkswagen Golf 5, open the bonnet and remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine bay. Once this is removed, you can access the underlying parts by loosening all the screws that secure the top of the engine block. Before you can remove it, you will also need to remove the air filter box and its duct, along with other pipes that obstruct access to the engine. After removing all these parts, you can pull off the engine head and replace the gasket with a new one.
