In this tutorial, see how to replace the thermostat in a Volkswagen Polo. First, ensure the engine is completely cold, then open the bonnet, remove the cap from the coolant reservoir, and drain the coolant by disconnecting the lower hose. Next, disconnect the thermostat inlet hose and, using a 10 mm socket, undo the two securing bolts. Once removed, fit the replacement along with a new gasket and reassemble everything in reverse order. Finally, refill with the previously drained coolant.
