This guide explains the steps to remove and clean the EGR valve of the Volkswagen Golf Mk5 with a 1.4 petrol engine. First, open the bonnet and start by removing the engine cover; then use a socket spanner to unscrew and remove the bolts of the EGR valve, as shown in the video. At this point, disconnect the electrical connector and then the pipe connected to the valve by unscrewing the bolts with a Torx key; finally, remove it and clean it using appropriate degreasers.
