In this video tutorial, you will learn how to replace the air filter in a Volkswagen New Beetle 1.9 TDI by following a few simple steps: the first thing to do is to purchase an air filter from an authorised dealer; the next step is to get inside the vehicle, turn off the engine, and pull the handbrake. Lift the bonnet and secure it with the prop rod, once you locate the air filter box, use pliers to remove the clip holding the intake hose to the filter box, disconnect the connector from the mass airflow sensor, and detach the intake hose from the filter box; next, unscrew the fastening elements of the filter box cover. Remove the cover and extract the old filter element from its seat; cover the intake hose to prevent debris from entering the combustion system, clean the housing, and insert the new air filter; now you can reassemble all parts in reverse order.
